Thinking about moving to Oklahoma City? You better come hungry — because one thing this city definitely doesn’t lack is great food. From old-school burger joints to sleek fine dining, OKC’s food scene is surprisingly diverse… but let’s be honest — not all the hype is worth the bite.

That’s why I’ve pulled together my personal picks for the best restaurants across several categories — burgers, Mexican, Asian, vegan, fine dining, and a few curveballs you may not see coming.

๐Ÿ” Best Burger Spots in Oklahoma City

1. Nic’s Grill
Classic Oklahoma-style onion burgers served in a tiny space with massive flavor. Expect a line at lunch — but it’s worth every minute.

2. The Garage
Casual and family-friendly, this Oklahoma-based chain has a wide variety of burgers, fun vibes, and yes — spiked milkshakes.

3. Burger Punk
Loud, edgy, and seriously delicious. They’ve got a killer burger lineup (including vegan options) and crinkle fries that’ll ruin you for all others.

๐ŸŒฎ Best Mexican Food in OKC

1. Ted’s Café Escondido
Not the most authentic, but a classic Oklahoma staple. Fast, consistent, and loaded with fan favorites like fajitas, queso, and warm tortillas.

2. Barrio’s Fine Mexican Dishes
Stylish, trendy, and flavorful. Go for the pork carnitas tacos and order the Chichin Chong cocktail — don’t ask, just trust.

3. Azteca Mexican Grill
More traditional and family-style. Think enchiladas, chimichangas, rice and beans — all packed with flavor.

๐Ÿœ Best Asian Restaurants in OKC

1. Thai Delight (Edmond)
Affordable and authentic Thai. The pad thai is my go-to, but the volcano chicken is a must. Don’t skip the spring rolls.

2. Tokyo Sushi
No frills, just great sushi. Try the spicy tuna, salmon, or go bold with a rainbow or mountain roll. Zero pretension, high quality.

3. Tamashii Ramen House
For serious ramen cravings. Rich broth, chewy noodles, good vibes. Shoutout to Goro Ramen too — both hit the spot.

๐Ÿฅฆ Best Vegan & Veggie Spots in OKC

1. The Red Cup
Local, quirky, and packed with plant-based flavor. Must-try items: the Vagabond Scramble, Loaded Bowl, and Buffalo Mac. Even meat-eaters leave full and happy.

2. The BeetBox
Perfect for plant-curious foodies. Try the Chicklet Sandwich or the Bang Bang Tacos. You won’t miss the meat.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ New & Trending Restaurants

1. Pearl Mesta
Chef Andrew Black’s latest creation. Known for “possibility cuisine” — you’ll find things like truffle-fried okra and steak with coconut peppercorn sauce. It’s as bold as it sounds.

2. Raven
Located in the old VZD’s space. Their oxtail mac & cheese and wood-grilled specials are worth a visit — especially in this revamped historic venue.

3. Birdie’s by Chef Kevin Lee
A modern Korean steakhouse. Get the sticky spicy ribs or garlic-ginger salmon — they’re absolute flavor bombs.

๐Ÿฅ‚ Upscale & Fine Dining Favorites

1. Mahogany Prime Steakhouse
Classic high-end steakhouse. Great service, killer filet mignon, and don’t miss the crab & lobster bisque.

2. Vast
Located on the 49th floor of the Devon Tower with sweeping views of OKC. The rack of lamb and glazed salmon are standouts. Perfect for date night.

3. The Hutch
Sleek, low-key, and known for its wine selection (so I’m told). I can personally vouch for the short rib and glazed salmon.

โ˜• Bonus: Best Breakfast/Brunch Spot

Neighborhood Jam
Creative takes on brunch classics with a relaxed, modern vibe. Try the Big Bad Burrito and, if you're feeling trendy, the avocado toast. Yes, it’s still cool. Probably.
